City Rainbows

by Siri Lipscomb

Rainwashed streets of rainbow rivers
Reflection ancient nearby quivers
Wavy outlines always changing
Trees and buildings re-arranging

Viscous boundaries over time
Soften harshest oil-soaked grime
Gritty edges purple hue
Ringed with yellow green and blue

Rainbow colors in the city
Even ugly things look pretty
Why do I still feel such pity
Why do I still feel so shitty
