Sweet Gypsy Rose

by Kimberly Bare

sometimes i feel that the fates do show
many other lives before this i've known
and i glimpse a vision
in that hazy place
that's in between
the fading stars and the rising sun

the shadow of a dancer do i find
the firelight shows a face
that looks like mine
with wild abandon did i sway
and softly on the wind
i can hear me say

"just call me your sweet gypsy rose
gently as the summer
breeze do i go
surely as the night does call
i must move on
but always you will listen for my song"

i wish that i could be
such a lovely melody
how the people would clap
and call out my name
"there she goes again
that sweet gypsy rose, my friend"

Indeed a lovely vision and something that I think many people wonder about. Well done here bringing it to the forefront of this reader's mind.
