D.T.R. by Christel Crews
Things are getting kinda familiar again
I hate to say it, but its time we decided where we stand
Don't be surprised
You're a flirt, it seems, and so am I
I ponder where we stand in your mind
I find I drift to the unsure type
the ones not man enough to fight
Don't be surprised
Most aren't willing to admit anything
I'm sick of the hurt that comes with a fling
So, its time I closed another door
I'll smile and say "I don't like him anymore"
Don't be surprised
If I seem to pull away, for I
Want something more before I die
I stand grounded back in the day
When women waited and men made waves
So, don't be surprised
If I keep this from you
And I'll be gone in a day or two
09/15/2003 Author's Note: this is kinda rough around the edges, but I thought I'd post it. i came up with the majority of it in class (boring lectures!)... i was so bored, sad that this is what i came up with, no?
