Heart Broken, Easily Fixed

by Jersey D Gibson

You stitch my broken heart together,
fixing it more with every breath I take.
You pluck the strings out one by one,
when you do nothing but watch every move I make.

Don't take me for granted,
my soul is as fragile as eggshells.
The bad things about me you've ranted,
have left my heart at the bottem of a well.

Scars heal with time,
memories will fade with age.
My words were like that of a mime,
am I just some pet bird in a cage?

You brought my torn heart back,
reminding me of all the good times we had.
Can't survive another attack,
but you do it anyhow, aren't you glad?

I see all of you in my place,
several pictures demand my attention.
Why do you all have a different face,
when you have the same cruel intentions?

My dreams act like my VCR,
replaying my same mistakes over.
Rush into the arms of another woman.
It's the same in a relative way, but I'm older.

Look at my heart, dropped once again,
want to help me pick up the pieces?
What I should be doing is looking for a friend,
but all I try to do is smooth out the creases.
