Stuck by Amy NiggelStuck,
not between the proverbial rock and hard place
but somewhere far more treacherous.
between here and there
the past and future.
stuck struggling
and getting nowhere
running to stay in place like the queen in Alice's tale.
Stuck
between laughing and crying
lying and telling the truth.
Between two immovable forces
which have decided that a collision course sounded fun.
Stuck
trying to save myself
and save you
and save us
and feeling lost
and afraid
and wondering why I bother trying at all.
Stuck
between the sun and moon
and wondering where I left that spaceship to get back.
And realizing that maybe I never was in the same place as you anyhow
Stuck
with no forseeable way of getting out
no escape hatch this time
just that black void of space between. 09/13/2003 Author's Note: This did not end up anywhere close to where it was intended to. But upon re reading it I think I know why it went where it went so its all ok. my works do tend to have a life of thier own anyhow.

| Posted by Aaron Howard on 09/17/03 at 12:59 AM Great piece.. Wow.. I think I'm gonna have to spend more time in here from now on.. Even tho your work is short and sweet, it's the best part about it.. How you wrap all these emotions up in a tight pacakge.. makes it an easy read and conveys a powerfull message at the same time.. which is a hard thing to do for some (namely me)
Keep it rocking.. |
