viridian (the green goes on forever) by Richard Paez
it could be beautiful down here in the green i could plant myself here {if not for the litter}
under the wounded brush and shadow of this river-cut glen where roots and paths lay bare and un-shamed i could find peace {if not for the traffic}
under the wounded architecture of leaves i could be fluid {and reptile} again
how to grow this out of human terms? how to express this, the coming of the ants, the vermilion swarming under twigs and vines?
surrounded like this down here in viridian i can almost pretend that the green goes on i can almost pretend that the green goes on {forever} 09/13/2003 Author's Note:
I am aching tired of humanity.

Posted by Jason Wardell on 09/13/03 at 09:29 PM Some times you just have to forget all your human concerns... reverting to an earlier form is probably the best solution. (certainly not easiest, though ;) ) I really like this. Especially how during a more thoughtful part, it snaps back to reality (if not for the litter, if not for the traffic) |
