Stepping Into Life

by Thomas K. Hunt

There's an empty hole that's waiting
To be filled with something new
There's a light that's shining somewhere
And it's waiting there for you

You can turn around and wander
To the places that you've been
Or follow in the footsteps
To find out where they end

Be cautious and step lightly
Hop over all the cracks
Once you find what's out there
You may never venture back

It's dark, and it's mysterious
It's full of the unknown
You can embrace it like a lover
Or choose to leave it alone

It's all of what you make it
It's all left up to you
Just be real, never fake it
Hope it's always true

Trust is hard to come by
Remember it's earned, never free
Do your best to understand it
Search your heart to clearly see

Good one Thomas. Do we dare to dream and take risks, or do we choose the side of caution at all costs, is what this says to me. Destiny is not handed to us, we forge it through choices. Well done.

Some wonderful words of advice, here. I'm sure something like this could make all the difference in a the life of a person just stepping into his/her own. Very well done :)
