Cognitive Downpour by Trisha De GraciaUncertainty, it seems
has creeped up and into me
~foglike
~~and
~stealthy
thick like thunder and rain.
One piece of memory
thrust into now
and you are just what I can't forget.
With two...
and one night
and one dream
and one wish
one mistake that I won't ever change
and you made me this way.
Looking back and
I see
--what I should have
--before
(now the rain starts to pour)
And I'm struck with the pangs
of forgotten and bittersweet memory.
Mist in my frayed, splintered thoughts.
Just a childish self-centered and unthoughtful
me
.
.
.
And you are just the medium,
you are the brush,
'stirred a certain something
~still~
while all around the ripples change direction.
Me from you
Then you to me
in a dance where I don't know time
you don't know the steps
and nobody's playing the notes right.
Smile at the innocent gesture
down comes the rain
And I laugh as I turn up my hood at it. 09/11/2003 Posted on 09/12/2003 Copyright © 2024 Trisha De Gracia
