Tears

by Brian Francis

Tears

Crimson streams, puddles, pools
Images carried for the rest of my life
The dying rasp of life's last breath
The fading of being, the dimming of light
A yearning, it seems is drawn from within
A cry from the deepest of bestial minds
A moment of holding to stifle the loss
Then forever goodbye and forever goodbye

Anger seethes at forgotten words,
misplaced until the moment had passed.
Pain at feeling the whole of your loss
Horror at the thought; alone at last.
Crimson stains haunting the mind
Tainting the memory of happier times
Moments when I smell your scent
Or I call your name and await your reply

Hi Brian, Great write. Yes, it is very powerful, so emotional. Losing someone you know or a love, specially a family member is never easy for anyone. The pain, heartache, been there and done that last year and this year. Over 4 years ago, a friend of mine passed away. My Mom last year and this year my Dad. You know their not suffering anymore or in anymore pain. It still hurts a great to let them go. So many tears, many tears. One can can only pray, and keep taking each day as they come. There will be momnets, when it really hits you. I've been there. Lots of hugs.
