Paths We Travel

by Brian Francis

As I travel through this weary world
Still alone and incomplete
Not knowing what dangers lie ahead
And always fearing defeat
I pass through mountains, valleys and plains
By oceans, and rivers and streams
I watch the sun go from east to west
And cherish all of its beams
The paths get narrow and over grown
Few others have passed this way
Still I go on my pace not slowed
As the sky begins to gray
For I have traveled both day and night
Fearing to fall asleep
Sowing the fields with grains and seed
Hoping others will come to reap
Never again will I pass through here
Forward my journey goes on
Watching the sun as it fades away
And waiting to greet the new dawn

Its easy to identify with this poem of yours. The path is lonely, and the fear of the unknown keeps us always on our toes, uncertain and anxious. The good part is that it ends on a positive note.

Great job man, Nice imagry and I love the optimism in the last line, even tho this work has a tinge of sadness in it... or maybe that's just what I see in it.. Then again, poetry is like that.. People see something in themselves through your writing.. nice work...
