Love by Adrian CalhounHere I am,
there you are.
Miles from nowhere,
somewhere, anywhere together.
I stare at the stars and wonder,
why do they fail to compare to your beauty.
My waking moments are spent consumed
by your face, and your words.
Life is a gift,
love the icing on the cake,
making life enjoyable for all.
For some true love is never found,
others dance around it and briefly with it,
I think I may have found it.
Only time can tell,
and I am willing to wait, on and for you.
Whatever the outcome, my heart is yours,
in friendship if nothing more.
I will have you,
just the way you are. 08/29/2003 Posted on 09/11/2003 Copyright © 2024 Adrian Calhoun

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 09/12/03 at 12:43 AM Seems you had another love poem not too long ago with a similar theme. True love is commitment, finding the friendship within the marriage vows lived out in everyday life as it comes to us. True love is the acceptance of the reality that is mine rather than the wistful wishfulness of fantasy. |
Posted by Aaron Howard on 09/13/03 at 11:53 PM Great job.. reminds me alot of something we all think about in life.. and that last line reminds me so much about how love can make you accept someone for who they really are.. Great piece! |
