Beauty

by Kimberly Bare

If beauty's in the eye of the beholder
so many never know
cause their eyes are closed
as they walk through life with their heads hung down
can't even see the flowers growing in the ground

what a sad, sad life it would be
if I could see no beauty around me
the sun, a cloud, a budding tree
these are beautiful
to me
a smile, a laugh, a loving glance
they make living worth the chance

no, I may never be rich
I may never touch a star
but a happy life I will lead
for I'll try to see
the beauty
in me

Th only thing I can see from so many having their eyes closed is that they must find the back of their eyelids beautiful. This is a honest look at the world around us. The only thing I may suggest is that you describe the sun, cloud and budding tree from your perspective. What do those objects mean to you at a personal level. Great read that helps us prioritize our lives.
