Bittersweet Still-Frozen

by Trisha De Gracia

Into the realm
my awakeness is dappled
by bits of your memory
soft, sweet, lush
a touch of the stars
you melted my heaven.
And onto my skin
crawling and shaking
I feel a touch
it's not your own
piercing through my flesh
when I've transcended being
and become the immortal.
Uncertain words to fall
upon waiting bleeding ears
your dark betrayal
etched into organs
one can't reach far enough
to grasp its meaning
to hold its Truth.
Your Truth was never free to me
and locked behind the stone
of your dead, dull eyes
you have no feeling
gone in an instant
you're warmth replaced with hollow
your sweet breath replaced with ice.
Thrown to the moons and stars
you have no theory
just a wasteful existence
a human blood and bone
rotting, dripping
decayed from inside out
your face is concave and greenish
your heart pumps steel
through broken veins.
Not the one I used to know
forgotten all your songs
in a wistful wakeful journey
towards a sunset dead
and gone
recoil dreadfully
your fear is now
the best and only outcome.

Your writting just keeps getting better and better. This poem is such a perfect example of that.
