Aligned In Death

by Charles J Hannan

Sitting in a cemetery
Can be quite enlightening
A look at life and where it goes
I ponder by a pair
From the 1800's
They must have been grand
In their day
In playing a part in humanity
Kneeling to God
And reaping benefits
Are they holding hands?
Wherever they may be?
Aligned in death as in life
Perfect depth of earth
For no one to disurb
Resting
Beneath me
As to say..leave a flower
And go away
