GRAVitY

by Leslie Ann Eisenberg

Through the clouds, you trace
ME
The dusky outline of A BEAST
in flight
A blur OF FANCY, burning
Into focus
As I FALL to
earth

HEADFIRST, I spiral
Beak and breath and blushed cheeks
My arms sprout wings of pink
and powder blue,
The resiny
dust of my fresh feathers,
HEAVEN
to touch
If
I let you

My proud purple crest
Bleeds
into virgin ribcage patches, a
tattoo map of white speckled splendor
that GIRDS
MY pale yellow belly, round with
HOPE and calm, peeking down
at the ground
that awaits
The peaceful pull of you

I really liked this poem, the spiraling down headfirst without fear and panic, its real calming. I also liked the line "MY pale yellow belly, round with HOPE"
