Haunting

by Emily Sullivan

dreams as vivid as day
i see your face once
everything flows back
remembering the emotions
that used to hit me
like forty rains at once
feeling what i don't want to
love
knowing the truth that makes you
deceit
lies always lingered from your lips
knowing i would believe
niave
you knew so well how to perform
professional
can't you stay out of my life?
end the dreams which
linger throughout the day
nightmares
wanting you out of my head forever
nothing will mend this heart
longing
you remain there always
haunting
