Brilliance Defiled

by Trisha De Gracia

Saddened Angel
gossamer wings
intact,
but touched by dirty hands,
has weeped
for now no sun
shines through their sparkle.
Weeped on me, She did
and how Her tears left burns
'pon unproctected skin
and how Her voice
once translucent,
wispy,
now was hard and heavy
now was cold
a sin upon the Earth.
Ugly voids had melted through
those once-so-pure
and lighted wings,
and now the Guilty will be shown,
My hands will not come clean.
