To my Socks

by Shayla R Cakes

The sock is underappreciated
Overworked and underpaid
Highly underrated
Even the ones so tattered or frayed
Socks are very important
Some are short and some are not
They're compact and can be colourful
And they can be tucked into tight spots
Socks, they never wrinkle
They keep your feet from blisters and pain
And every sock is equally important
From the flashy to the plain
It doesn't matter if they're knee high
If they're mismatched or a pair
It doesnt matter where you bought them
The Wal-Mart here, or the Gap over there.
It doesn't matter what colour they are
As they're usually hidden by shoes
Your outfit could be a dreadful taupe
But your socks could be pinks or blues.
The socks are very important
To the outfits you wear each day.
I know I love and appreciate them --
I wouldn't live life any other way.
Oh sockies, my sockies
I want you to know
That no matter the weather I love you so
I could never do without you
Thank you for being my socks.

I never really thought about it that way. A wonderful tribute and a great read.
