Dilemma (Ruins)

by Vikki Owens

I have been destroyed,
torn down and ravaged,
a ruin,
I allowed these bones to crumble
and the
flesh to fester into dust....

Now is time for rebirth,
I ask myself,
can something come from nothing?

Where there was
a fortress
there is only fields
and not a
stone in sight....

Rebuilding defenses can be difficult when the old fortress has been compromised so thoroughly. I wish you luck in your endeavors, but don't seal yourself off completely. A vulnerable little verse that really details the emotional aspect of protecting oneself after they have been taken advantage of. Thanks for sharing.

This is such an excellent poem. I love the lines: "I ask myself, can something come from nothing?"
