Well I know what it is to truly love,
And I know what it is to hold the world in the palm of my hand.
I know what it is to smile and be smiled upon,
And I know what it is to worry.
I've learned all about jealousy,
And I know how perfection looks.
I know what it takes to melt my heart,
(And I know that fall is my favorite season).
I know what clouds look like from up above,
And I know that some things don't ever go away . . .

You might not guess that I can handle emotions.
You might not even know that I've been torn.
But sure as sand I've been dealt a hand,
And true friends don't ever go away.
I know that life is choices,
But I know we all have these memories,
And my memories are the sweetest things,
That no one can take from me.

Sometimes there's no right answer,
Sometimes no answer at all.
But I know we're part of a bigger plan,
And we're not all going to win.
Sometimes it hurts when things just can't come back,
when things won't ever be the same.
It hurts when you've gotta grow up
Cause youth's the greatest game.

Sometimes a poem can just tell things best
And bring closure to your day
And end the nights you're up so long
Trying to understand.
You might think I'm all work and no guts.
You might think I don't know that much.
But pal, sometimes there're more important things
Than antiderivatives and such.
