Dilemma

by Karl Waldbauer

A super nova explodes
inside the universe that is my soul
whenever I taste you,
whenever I smell you
coming to me for more attention.
Gripping your ankles, I hold on as I slide into oblivion;
moving in perfect union
we explode again.
My sweat falls on your chest
like molten stars falling on a panting desert.
You turn your head
and I watch your jugular pulsate before I kiss
that source of your life and energy.
You trace the outline of my sensitive lips with your finger,
then slip it into my mouth,
teasing my tongue
before I flip you over
to slap your ass
as I leave to get us some apple juice.
"This isn't sex," you tell me,
"this is making love,"
and we both fall silent
at the sound of that frightening word.

this is outstanding. the words i have seem inadequate to describe my emotions, and so i will just say YES, this is how i feel...

Wonderfully presented images that really grab the rader's attention. The awkward sensation at the end really makes an impact. Great read.

I love the way you mixed the beauty and rawness of sex together in this extremely well written poem...

I really like how the juxtaposition of physical (gripping your ankles) and fantasy (molten stars falling on a panting desert). Also, it's just hot.
