contruction zone

by Rhyana Fisher

hard concrete words
like pieces of lego
snapped together
in an order
no one else
can make sense of,
caging overanalyzed
emotions worn and faded
through an overabundance
of that lost commodity
-time.

no fanciful muse,
only mind-bending labor
revise, revise, revise
construct each thought
precisely, concisely.
if one word won't work
hunt down another,
a futile attempt
to recapture
fleeing emotions.
