In Time

by Leslie Ann Eisenberg

Hero worship
Body worship
Thoughts of all of you
inside me
Frighten the golden bird I want
to possess

I fall and glide and spin and roar and
Fight for my life
beside vacant Monday-faced freaks

Time speaks volumes after her kiss
Butter knife tongue sinks into my heart
A welcoming wound
cleansing unkind words

Paradoxically subtle. Conflict is the only way to get out of a conflict. Nice piece. Thanks.
