Contemplating XY Chromosome by Trisha De GraciaSitting in my room
on my bed
unscrewing the bolts that hold
myself together
once I played a part
and now
I've forgotten every word they said-
I'm making them up just fine.
And you can't remember
who you thought I was
or how
or why.
I can't forget
what made me want to change myself
last night.
Faulty pen
exploding
careful drops are making me alright.
I'd sing a song for you
but the only tune I know
is just my own.
So stare forever
your eyes complete the notes
that've gone all wrong
but don't wait now for nothing
Can't follow your blue
the red's too strong.
And I won't make you laugh
the way they might
to see you in the light
but the way I heard you then,
you made me want to change it all
last night. 08/17/2003 Author's Note: I've had a string of random poems come out of me lately...
