Look across the Grand Potomac
upon the graveyard hill,
see the grandest monument ever made.
It isn't a great building
like others you may find.
It is simply where our heroes are laid.

Walk the narrow pathway
leading through our very best,
and honor them with a simple prayer.
Remember them their sacrifice.
Remember them with love.
Because of them, Liberty, we share.

Stand before the honor guard
where the unknown lay at rest.
Feel the grandest monument ever made.
It isn't stone and mortar
that makes you shed a tear.
It's simply where our heroes are laid
