        & i hate the way the
words scrape & snag
like stone between your
teeth, tugging & twisting
until my palms
bleed (cries) from
the rope burn.

communication (backfire)
    & i love the sound of my
words swishing & f l o w ing
out from within my pen
publishing rivers across
blank white plains –
and it’s been so long
now since letters
