04/25/2003 Author's Note: I was sitting in the Russell Union when I felt a huge desire to put into words the phenomenon I've experienced all the time I've known my best friend. It's not easy to put into words, and I think I've only done a marginal job here. But it's the essence of what happens when I'm with him. It's me times ten. He's the maginfying glass for me. Some have said that he brings me down or makes me cynical, but not so. He builds me up. And besides that, he can make me laugh like nothing else on this planet can.
