it seems as if you're slipping farther away

my calls go unanswered and unreturned

our conversations seem more and more like a chore

my heart is breaking

my eyes are clouded with tears

you pull away from my embrace

despite my efforts to hold on to you

you stride away with your back to me

never turning to look back

as i crumble to the ground

tears streaming down my face

but you keep walking away

ignoring my screams
