frigid photograph... by Stephanie KentThe haunting whistle of a lonely winter chill
Breathes its way through ranks of stoic lampposts.
The lantern-pools of the iron watchmen
Make a taunting refuge for restless shadows
Seeking a hallowed sanctuary from the ghostly melody...

Posted by JD Clay on 08/13/03 at 12:54 PM The title leaves an impression of a study in black and white. The message supports that thought quite nicely. As to the author's note, your use of ellipsis at the end (and title)suggests the idea of suspension, let it sit awhile and see what comes.
