Sweet Despair

by Trisha De Gracia

Your voice
Warm chocolate
hands like the moon
and wings like an eagle.
Will you walk with me
and take whichever path
is to your liking by and by
but will you walk a short while
with me
for now?
To consume you is my only wanting
how odd
that one can wish for little else...
but we cannot walk too far
lest we fall
do
not
fall
I've died on the floor too many times.

But what is there to fear?
We cannot stand still
and the only chocolate I'll taste
is yours.

Falling in love and landing can hurt. Falling in love serenaded by a man with a voice smooth as chocolate must be great.
