Portrait of a World at Dawn by Karen MichelleThis night drips into morning
with the subtlety of spring breeze
- refreshing me in its wake -
A breath of renewal of lamplight,
pre-empting daylight.
Your skin, curved and folded
into spaces of perfection
- drawing me into silence -
engages the memory of time
faceless and halted.
These minutes, press against
another dusty horizon
- amber and ambiguous -
and the grit of morning
awaits the crush of sunrise08/11/2003 Posted on 08/11/2003 Copyright © 2024 Karen Michelle
