Lights on, I am Home

by Karen Michelle

it's my sunny
kind of september
spring in the air
[in my step]

you whispered iloveyous
straight shot against
the early breeze this morning
[caught me offguard]

everything renews itself
with the white and pink
of a delayed season's blossom
[we're all trying to rebloom]

this sense of yesterday is gone
is soaked up by the sunlight
the lists of things to do
[things not to do]

the three day hiatus
from leftover winter weather
is all i need for redemption
[i'm on hold until october]
