Cabin Fever

by Karen Michelle

Confined in this
two year plan
of a life in a bottle,
I am never complete
without an obsession
clouding my thoughts
with road trip and escape -
a dream of future
stained with reality.

And this world is
the bitter shock of
purest blood on
stark white tiles.
I am in love with the
contrast as I haemorrhage
across another surface...
and they say that beauty
always comes at a price

This piece is very open to interpetation, so I could relate.
