Heart Shaped Puzzle by Christopher ShinI tend to stare into
the world with awe.
Sometimes I think about
the empty cold lump
that beats slowly at first,
but sadly at best.
My heart feels the sudden
flutter of joy in my chest.
As I swim through the sea
of rememberance.
Sometimes I ponder over her
when I have to much free time or
when the boredom sinks in.
Sometimes she comes to me,
and I see here in front of me.
I don't know why I think about
her each day and night.
Yet I curse myself for ever
thinking about her.
I swear to dead gods and full moons
that I would never let my
heart bleed like the way you
softly kissed me.
Nor will I dine in the
deep blue eyes of yours.
Sometimes I ponder if it
was completely worth it?
To have loved in this world,
and yet have it ripped away.
I sit here confused and broken,
as I shift through the pieces
of my heart. 08/01/2003 Posted on 08/01/2003 Copyright © 2024 Christopher Shin

Posted by Barbara Griffith on 08/02/03 at 04:45 PM It's so amazing, it's almost like all your poetry seems to revolve around a few small (yet important) memories. I love your idea to compare the heart to a puzzle. But remember, if it has peices, it can be put back together. |
