I woke this morning
and I felt your breath on my face
and you arms around me.
I held you close
and whispered good morning beautiful.
Get up,
go to work,
and you are right there by my side.
Every time I have a problem
every time I want to cry,
your smile holds off my tears.
Go out and paint the town
and you are with me
I feel your hand as it brushes mine
and I cannot see any other guy in the room.
Heading home,
singing to the radio at the top of my lungs
and every song is a memory of a different day
when it played with you.
Change into pjs
crawl into bed and say my prayers,
and I feel your warm arms around me
and your gentle kiss on my lips
as I whisper goodnight
I love you.
it doesn't seem so hard
because through it all you are with me
and love can conquer all,
even distance
