[Library] Man-Made Man by Nikki RicePages yellowed
with cigarette smoke
Marked with stains
of coffee droplets
Cover torn
from being carried
Gently faded
weathered from the sun
This book is a lot like me.
Lipstick smudged
on a porcelan edge
Once filled up
washed over again
Appearing clean
only on surface
With inspection
some chips and stains
This cup is a lot like me.
Seemingly square
sturdy and stable
Polished over
with bleach and water
Edges scratched
there's gum underneath
Prone to sway
at slightest of touch
This table is a lot like me.
I am not one with nature,
but with the nature of man.
Man-made is a lot like man.

Posted by Vimal Rony on 08/03/03 at 06:04 AM To be frank this is too good.It is surprising how sometimes we undermine our writings but the others see a lot more in it that we can't see.I like the metaphors which is used wonderfully well. |
