Leigha Made Me Cry by Kalikala SmithShe kissed me.
A sweet brush of the lips against my cheek,
and for that instant I felt real.
Then she was gone,
and the emptiness is enough to fill
the cold blue Atlantic.
The water lapping at my veins.
The seaweed and sinew wrapping itself
around my body.
A cold wet blanket for a lifeless lover.
I loved her for that moment she was mine,
and loved her more for leaving.
My angel of the sea, of ocean mist,
of bay breeze.
Leigha made me cry.

Posted by Matt Forget on 07/30/03 at 04:38 AM It's like the love of the ocean. It's so deep and says so much. I enjoyed this read. I really did. Nice work! Keep it up! |
