Ramblings of a Displaced Heart

by Becca Morton

Glistening in the moonlit sky
Listening to the weeping willow’s cry
Wanting to figure it out...
Don’t know H O W or W H Y...

Killing the truth
Lies sound so much better
Wanting you here...
N O W and F O R E V E R...

Hating the absurdity
Who gives the last laugh?
Trying to rewind...
Reaching for the P A S T...

Avoiding the pain
I’m tired of the hurt
You’re too far away...
So much to G A I N...

Loving you is hard
But life isn’t easy
Forgetting you...
Is all but P L E A S I N G...

Knowing that the truth
Is too much to bare
All of this for you...
You don’t even C A R E
