the moon rises
the stain sets
the trouble brews
the baby cries
the rain cascades
the cloud conjures
the smile fades
the rope drops
the pendulum swings
the baby laughs
the angel prays
the hole empties
the lie multiplies
the truth hides
the rose dies
the banshee screams
the baby sleeps
the heart breaks
the soul falters
the mind fails
the body crumbles
the star blinks
the sun burns
the stone cracks
but the baby
the baby
does not change
