AWAKENING

by Lori I Wolfe

Echoes of heated pain

Pound the protecting ice

Chipping away the barrier of death

Desperately claws for survival

Compressing cylinder

Pumps in rhythm

Breathing life into the reposed

Cracks vibrate the inner walls

Silent screams release the anguish

The tormented begs for another chance

A porthole begins to shutter

As light seeps through the crevice

Rejoicing tears resound

Shower promises of a new day

With a birth of the Awakening
