Sun-strained Eyes

by Angel J McRae

Take a walk inside my sun-strained eyes
Through the valleys and cannons of gray areas
Where hidden secrets take to home
Lingering in the darkness of shadows
As gold saturates the tips
Where angels are about in joy
And harmony exists.

Take a walk inside my sun-strained eyes
With the brilliance shinning through
The sparks and flecks like falling ice
Where forbidden fruits are stolen immaturely
And even the pure are tainted.

Take a walk inside my sun-strained eyes
Where pain meets the innocent
Angels ride on devils wings
And there is no choice but to see
The pleasant, the unruly,
The truth of you and me.
