Chasing Tomorrow

by Amy Niggel

Anticipation becomes overwhelming
and all I can see is that dates so seemingly far away
I don't like waiting
it is a crime
an insult to the moment you are waiting for
and an injustice to those you are wasting in the proccess
but all I can see is the future
the present is lost to me
if you are always looking ahead
you'll never know what just happened
so I am in a daze
lost and confused
running ever forward
trying to catch that elusive white rabbit
but it doesn't matter anyhow
tomorrow isn't real
it'll never come
because it can never be tomorrow
when I wake up
it'll just be another today.
