You make me feel

by Lisa-Dawn Sparling

You make me feel like I am insane,

Like I am some blood thirsty lunatic,

Trembling and talking to myself.

You make me feel like the loneliest women alive,

Like I’m a stranger in a crowd,

I am lost and so scared.

You make me feel like the last leaf on a branch,

Like I am shivering in the cold,

Spinning in the wind.

You make me feel like a car without brakes,

Like I am out of control,

Unable to stop even when I see the brick wall.

You make me feel like shutting the door,

Like hiding the key,

and losing myself.
