Truly

by Scott Cadence

I watched you
through the linger of soundscapes
twisting just enough
to get loose

The movements fine like silk
should have given you away

But they had no clue
no idea the characters
one could slip into

All these people
seem like emissaries of another world
as I exist for you

The eyelock
electric-weaving through the masses
like the young
maneuvering behind the wheel

The Urgency is pounding In the blood

So fast everything turns
passing by in peripheral vision
blurred

And by time the future was located
we were long gone

Your hand laid atop of my own
like summer
awaiting half drawn windows
and 30 minute showers
We ran
dancing in the heated desert rain
outside the reach of any city
any limit

A true poet's handiwork. This read was an invigorating breath of fresh air. Good stuff!
