Uranium and Uranus by D. Xavier BariI am that American fire
shining bright in the eyes
under patriot skies.
When the cries ring out
who shall sacrifice,
who shall die?
Meet their destiny
draped in red and white,
with a touch of blue,
leaving life and home
and a child or two.
Why?
When the gauntlet's thrown
and the stakes are high,
who shall the monuments diefy?
As we throw our youth
and our future
away over lies?
Lies.
Damned lies.
And "intelligence".
Take your rods and shove them. 07/12/2003 Posted on 07/12/2003 Copyright © 2025 D. Xavier Bari
