Escape Route to No Where

by Becca Morton

I look at them and W O N D E R

How it all works out

Are they playing games?

They think I can't figure it out?

They all treat me as a devise

Something to pull them in

More and more I'm thinking

How to find an escape route...

To get away from them.

His smile makes me wonder

Their "lies" pull me in closer

All the while, I'm stuck inside

Taking the route to nowhere

Someday I'll escape it

I'll run far beyond gone

For then I'll stop and ponder...

On how I withstood it so long.

Author's Note: hmm - Ok, I guess I'm feeling a little jealous/leftout - It go's and come's with age...

I agree, we all feel left out at some point, but at least it inspired a good poem ;)
