A Bright Morning

by Oliver Drewman

Among the many endless hours
Beside ourselves we stand
Reigning judgement's in our powers
Ignighting wrath's demand
Going from moment to moment
Half a breath we never take
Tomorrow a decided covenant
Multiplies our foolish mistake
Ownership of time's every hour
Rend this thought playing us false
Never was given us this flower
Instead all we receive is pulse
Notice now the air you are breathing
Give thanks for sight of new morn's gleaming
