This Flower of You

by Thomas K. Hunt

You sowed your seed a long time ago
The years have proven you knew how to grow
Your flower blooms year after year

But it's not planted in the ground
And there's no water to be found
It's nourished by the falling of my tears

The day you said goodbye
Was the day I learned to cry
Never imagining it would blossom for so long

Still deep within my weeds
A beautiful memory thrives and feeds
This flower of you is still so true and strong

Nicely done Thomas..A sadness I'm familiar with indeed.
