Shooting Stars

by Cole Miller

I laid myself down
In the quiet field
and stared up at
The millions of stars,
with every shooting
star that passed
through the nights
beautiful illinois sky
I made a silent wish
all little wishes that
would come together
to fufill a massive wish
If all those wishes
were to actually be
granted, but alas i
do not think that
any of those wishes
will be coming true
because all of my
shooting stars were
only little fireflies

Hi Nicole, Just read your poem, it's lovely. Yeah, the lighting bugs get around. Don't they. I like to watch them. Peace & Joy, Jean.
