Memories by Alan MahoodThought I was gonna die
On that highway in Chatanooga.
We made love all night in
The Best Western, waking only
Just before check out.
Walking the boardwalk in
Old town,
Stealing kisses in Keemah,
Watching you dress in a flash
'Cause you didn't
Want to be late,
Then doing it again just as
You were walking out the door.
Snapping pictures of the gators
You didn't believe in,
Going to the beach, the pool, movies.
Seeing you grow more
Distant, not wanting to think about
Losing you, yet being
Unable to deny reality,
Until I can't see you
Any more without
Crying.

Just read your poem, it's lovely, yet kinda sad. Sounds like ya may have lost your true love. Losing a love wouldn't be easy. Or ya broke up. Breaking up isn't easy. It's part living, love can stink sometimes. Then we pick up the pieces & continue on. Life goes on. Hope ya okay, hang in there. It can get better. Peace & Joy, Jean |
